Henry & Curly who live in the Tampa area, won all 3 games in the preliminary rounds. Then they swept through the "Sweet 16 Playoffs" to take the Bicycle Playing Cards Atlanta Friday Night Special Bid Whist Championship. Henry is Vice President of the Tampa Bay Gunslingers, and Curly is a member of The Miami 7 No Club. The Tournament was held on September 19, 2003. Seventy teams competed for the 1st Place Prize. This was the largest turnout in the Grand Prix Tournament series. Due to the increase in attendance, the 1st Place prize rose from an advertised $600 to more than double at $1300. Henry & Curly also took 3rd Place in the Saturday Morning Tournament held the next day. Congratulations to Henry & Curly. |
