WHIST PLAYERS SOCIETY IS:

Bid Whist and Spades Seminar and Tournaments Presented by

The Columbus Whist Players Society invites you to attend Origins International Game Expo 2005. CWPS will host Bid Whist and Spades beginners seminars, supervise open play and tournaments, from Thursday, June 30, thru Sunday, July 3, 2005, located at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, Ohio.

Learn to Play Bid Whist - Whist is a game that takes skill, instinct and luck to master learn the history of the game, basic rules and how to play. You will be a whistologist in no time. Whist classes will be followed by open play to practice what you have learned on Thursday, June 30, at 9:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 2, at 9:00 a.m. Cost: $1.50 per person, per class.

Learn to Play Spades A fun, challenging, family game anyone can learn to play!! The game features partnership play, bidding and a trump suit. Learn the history of the game, basic rules and how to play. Easy to learn!! Spade classes will be followed by open play to practice what you have learned on Thursday, June 30, at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, at 9:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 3, at 1:00 p.m. Cost: $1.50 per person, per class.

Bid Whist and Spade Tournaments - Already familiar with the game? Want to try out your newly acquired skills? Want to be competitive? Come play in the Bid Whist and Spades tournaments. Cash and other prizes awarded. Bid Whist and Spades qualifier tournaments will be on Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at 12:00 noon. Cost: $9.00 per person; top 10 teams advance to Final round on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Cash prizes: $250/$100/$50 for top 3 teams.

To attend this function you must purchase a pass. If you register through CWPS, by June 18, a 4 day pass will cost $25 (savings of $25). If you register at the door, a 4 day pass = $60.00, 2 day pass = $40.00, 1 day pass = $20.00. Please make checks payable to GAMA and mail to Columbus Whist Players Society, 2235 S.
