Patrenia of Atlanta & Michelle Of Los Angeles won 2 of 3 games in the Preliminary Rounds, they then swept through the "Sweet 16" Playoffs, to win the Tampa Main Event Championship. This team has been playing on the Bid Whist Across America Tour for several years, and this is the first time they placed in a tournament. They weren't done for the weekend. They also took 1st place in the Saturday Night Fever Tournament held a few hours later.

Fifty Nine 59 teams participated in the Main Event, which elevated the 1st Place Prize from $2000 to $3000. (See the Preliminary Round results at the bottom of this page). The Main Event Tournament was part of the Bicycle Playing Cards Tampa Bid Whist Weekend  held  May 5-6, 2006. Congratulations to Patrenia & Michelle.
